The trouble with orange…
Whether it’s the moon, the sunrise or the sunset, phone cameras seem to have trouble with the more subtle shades of yellow, orange and red. However, if the colour is strong they can pick it up. My phone camera does quite well in Hawaii.

Alii Nui sunsets.
So, a lady we met at the pool raved about the sunset dinner cruise on the large catamaran operated by Alii Nui. We took her up on the recommendation, and had a fabulous time. And, yes, Bernie saw and photographed another sunset. That makes 1,712…ish.

Pool or Beach? True 1st world question.
Like every tropical resort, the best chairs (the ones with the Palapas for shade) go very quickly. We know the game. I was out at 7:30 a.m. to ensure that Bernie wouldn’t incinerate in the sun! On the beach we built a berm to help us stay where we were as the tide rolled in.…

Our first morning in Maui. Please don’t hate us. Our first outing took us to the Mala Tavern in Lahaina (by bus; we are saving a fortune by not renting a car). It was about 20′ from the surf.

The adventure REALLY begins.
Starting the international leg of our new life. Caught the Red Arrow in Red Deer, which took us to the airport in Calgary. Brought Prosecco for the occasion. 🥂 Yup. To answer your question, we do ‘cheers’ a lot. It’s good for one’s happiness. 😊 Who doesn’t love watching airplanes?? Perfect view from the Marriott.
