So, yesterday we did a road trip, Maui style. Which means the road to and from Hana. Seven-ish hours of driving from where we are in Ka’anapali. And approximately 5000 turns of the steering wheel. đ This be the curviest road on earth, so it’s not for anyone with motion sickness. Some angry water indeed.…

Our favourite stroll.
We love the Ka’anapali beachwalk (5 mile roundtrip from where we start), especially between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., before it gets too hot. It seems most other walkers think the same way…

Hawaiian waves and a wedding.
Our friends Bob and Linda said “I do” after building a life together for the past 30 years. Longest engagement I have ever heard of! It was a lovely day in the perfect location. Bernie and I were honoured to witness this truly historical event. There was a fancy lunch:

Pool or Beach? True 1st world question.
Like every tropical resort, the best chairs (the ones with the Palapas for shade) go very quickly. We know the game. I was out at 7:30 a.m. to ensure that Bernie wouldn’t incinerate in the sun! On the beach we built a berm to help us stay where we were as the tide rolled in.…

Looking back at our hotel from the water’s edge. Based on how long it took to get out there, it may be about a kilometre wide. Oodles of clams in the sand. Too bad Bernie doesn’t do clam chowder. âšī¸
