Okay, whoever named the bike path connecting Victoria and Sooke “The Galloping Goose” was clearly hallucinating. Possibly enjoying a few too many of the local mushrooms. Aug 11th, 2022.

No hallucinogenics! The Galloping Goose was the name of of the original railway line upon which the bike trail was retrofitted. It’s train lingo apparently! Galloping Goose is the popular name given to a series of older railcars, maybe because of how they swang and wobbled along the tracks.
