Onward to Victoria

Absolutely LOVED the house we rented. A renovated 1909 Edwardian Four-Square in the historic and very quirky James Bay area, it was much larger than we anticipated. We had the main floor and the upstairs attic (which was also full size). The owner’s Dad (the house manager, a very nice gentleman, had a full suite downstairs). Bonus was EVERYTHING we needed or wanted to see was within walking distance.

Downside: it is kinda noisy, but the locals say you get used to the constant sirens and boat blasts. And of course there were spiders. Luckily Bernie loved the house too much to burn it down.

That front porch was fabulous for morning coffee!

It was spacious, bright and cosy. The front parlour reminded me of the days when – apparently – the men would gather ’round with cigars and brandy after dinner. Thank goodness those days are gone. 🤢
