A treasure for the past 114 years, “The Empress” is rightfully nicknamed “The Castle of the Coast”. She simply demands one’s attention.

Designed by the renowned architect Francis Rattenbury (known for the stunning BC legislature and other CPR hotels of the gilded age, including Chateau Lake Louise), she sits on reclaimed land and still has a stream running under her!
I fear she will be lost if ‘The Big One’ ever hits.
The Crystal Ballroom is breathtaking, even viewed through a locked door!

We broke down and had High Tea.
Waiter: “Would you like to start with champagne?”
Us: “Of course!”
That got us a ‘congratulations’ white chocolate wafer perched on top of the food tower.
And an extra $78 on the bill. 🙄
