Norwegians in the tropics??

Oct 28, 2022

Finding a Norwegian in the tropics is like finding a wahine in Inuvik. Consider yourself lucky!

Had appies and martinis with our dear friends Viggo (aka Captain Highliner) and Grace and their lovely kids and gkids. A wonderful time was had by all.

I am watching the weather closely at home. If it snows, Viggo will start vibrating. That’s always fun to watch.

  2. It was wonderful to see you again here in the tropical paradise of Maui and thank you for giving me credit for planting the seed that made you stop here on your way to New Zealand and beyond. This is trly a beautiful place.
Yes, I am a northerner and love the crisp, cool days and nights we have up north. So that is why I made sure we are only 20 meters from the ocean here, so taking a dip and cooling off is a frequent activity. However us polar bears are also very adaptable creatures, we will adapt to changes in the climate. Polar bears will not be wiped out by climate change, they will adapt, mark my words!
My twitching doesn’t really start until late November early December. There is rarely any good skiing in the Canadian Rockies before then anyway, so I am not missing out.

    1. Maui is all that and more. Our phones are going to be chock full of photos by the time we leave!

You have shown that every Norwegian plans ahead! Cannot miss those blizzards and ice. Music to your soul! 🌬️🌬️🌨️

    1. Hi Christine! It’s been quite an adventure so far, and is only going to get better. Unfortunately Costa Rica isn’t on the itinerary, but Portugal might be! Who knows when/where we might see you? ✈️

  4. D&B: For us elders, navigating your excellent travel blog has been a struggle, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now. Am enjoying following my favorite vagabonds, their commentary, and lovely photos!

BTW: As parents are prone to do, did you vote absentee in the US election before you hit the road?

    1. Dad, I had no doubt you would get the hang of it! I’m glad you are enjoying how your homeless son and daughter-in-law are handling life. It’s been a struggle, but we are doing okay. 😁

I thought absentees could only vote for Prez?
