
As you can see from the above panel, the adz was kinda important to the ancients. I bet it was also used to crack open coconuts or enemies, and in later years to open bottles of Budweiser.
Why am I rambling?
Because yesterday was Bernie-time. Which means hiking. Which means huffing and puffing and sore muscles and joints. Why do apparently sane people do this? Perhaps the answer is in the question. π€
Today’s sentence? The Kahakapoa Loop: an 8 mile* hike named for “making a hole in a tree”. π€π΅βπ«
* I guess AllTrails thought it would be funny to call it 6.6 miles, forgetting about the 1.4 mile roundtrip to the loop from the parking lot.

The funniest part of the entire day was our struggle to get OUT of the car after the hour and 15 minute drive back. This was then followed by a 5 minute shuffle to the elevator that felt much longer.
