Black swans and Shrek’s swamp.

Had a quiet day yesterday. Not much to do given that most things were closed. But the walk around Lake Rotorua (Te Rotorua nui ā kahumatamomoe) was quite something!

Dec 25th, 2022. The black swans were amazing.
Wonder if his name is “Bob”? šŸ˜
Not your typical nature walk. šŸ˜¬
This area of the lake is an odd colour. Volcanic ash??
Lots of sulphur-stained environments. Rather putrid. Shrek’s swamp!šŸ¤¢
Many pits with boiling water. It was wise to stay on the boardwalk. šŸ˜²
The local museum is being upgraded following a seismic event in 2016. Scheduled to reopen in 2025.
Gotta keep up with traditions.

        Actually, we have turkey dinner coming for Harry and me from Yellow Door Bistro at Hotel Arts! We are celebrating Christmas with the kids on the 28th which is the first day we can get them all together! So Iā€™m saving my Martha act for then. Harry and I are having a very relaxing day alone here!
