Lothlórien?

Bet that got your attention. 🤣

For “Lord of the Rings” fans, it is the Golden Wood where lived the Sylvan Elves ruled by the Lady Galadriel. While those scenes were not filmed where we were today, we felt like we were guests of the Lady herself.

These California Redwoods were planted here starting in 1901, and have done very well indeed. The area was opened to the public in the 1970’s. The tree-walk was constructed slowly and carefully so as to not harm the trees. It opened in late 2015.

We had no idea there were Redwoods outside of California. These are younger and therefore much smaller, but they are still magnificent.

The hike through the forest was kinda nice.
