Huh? Kelowna South!

After another 65,000 turns, we successfully made it from Punakaiki to Wakana.

Whoa. Talk about a change in scenery! Thick rain forests, mountains and beaches to dried up, yellow grass hills below stark mountains…and a few scattered forests.

If you love the Okanagan you would adore Wakana. It even has a slight Banff feel to it with all the tourists and boutique shops. An absolute delight for ladies who love shopping and a living nightmare for most men.

It even made Bernie wanna shop, and THAT is saying something! We did so, but given our circumstances, shopping did not equate to purchasing. Our friend Lai would have been vibrating…

January 21 – 24, 2023.

THIS was two blocks down the hill, in the middle of town. One could completely Zen out here.

      It is indeed charming. We had a good mix of pleasant wandering, punctuated by good food & drink (David-time) and an 18 km bike ride and a 6 km walk (Bernie-time).

    WOW, that sure brings back memories. We stayed in Wanaka and had dinner just about where you took that video. Beautiful place and the iSite guy that recommended Wanaka to us did actually compare it to Banff.

      The waterfront is quite lovely. We had several meals there!

      The Banff feel is unmistakeable. Not sure that’s a good thing?? 😂
