Okay, there is something wrong…

This morning we decided to take full advantage of this foo foo room in Hanmer Springs, after living in very cramped quarters for the past few weeks. Bernie was fine with the idea, given that it was a 4 1/2 drive yesterday from Oamaru.

It was going great until mid-afternoon, when…I BECAME ANTSY! ME! I was playing “Words with Friends”, reading a bit and just chillaxing, when it happened.

“Hun, wanna check out Hanmer Springs? Maybe go for a short hike?”

Bernie’s eyes were like pie-plates.

Not sure what’s going on. I might need help.

We decided to climb 550 metres to the top of “Conical Hill”.

    1. It was! I know I push Dave hard but he admits our outings are always worth while! Bonus that this was his idea yesterday!

  4. What a great idea at Conical Hill – the walking-return sticks and the benches for a breather. Alberta Parks made a HUGE when it spent a couple of million on a rehab of its locally famous Big Springs Hill park: No walking-return sticks and no benches for the older folks. Good on NZ!

    1. It seems like such an obvious thing to do. On prior hikes, when we found walking sticks we left them in an obvious location so others could use them. This was waaaaaaaaay better!
