Going rural.

Up until today we have been within sight of the ocean. It was time to head into the hinterland.

First stop was Sheffield, famous for being Tazzie’s outdoor art gallery. Taking inspiration from Chemainus, on Vancouver Island, the town has embraced murals on all open walls. Using local history, townspeople and their stories and mingling it with the stunning vistas prevalent in the area, the town has elevated itself to a place one really must tour.

Then it was off to the farm, just outside of Mole Creek. Built in 1890, this structure has served as everything from a cow-milking facility to a place to hang hides. It’s been a cottage since the ’90s.
