TALL trees that aren’t California Redwoods!

Yesterday we drove from Strahan to Hobart. To quote the Beatles, this was a long (almost 5 hours) and windy road! Felt very Kiwi.

It took us past Mount Field National Park, which features “Russell Falls” – which we had seen in photos hanging in Ruby’s Cottage in Port Arthur – and a tall trees walk.

Waterfalls and trees?! Of course we stopped. 😍😍😍

Mar 4, 2023. Russell Falls.
Horseshoe Falls, 239 steps and many inclined paths above Russell Falls. Of course we had to see it. πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ
The “Eucalyptus Regnan” tree can grow to over 300′ tall and 67′ in girth!
Also known as the “Mountain Ash” in Victoria, and locally as “Swamp Gum”, they are truly breathtaking!

  3. They kept saying watch out for the bends on the 7 km stretch of road between Queenstown and Gormeston but honestly that drive back to Hobart is like 1099 bends, just crazy! I don’t think they know how to built a straight road in Tazzie lol
