Tazzie!

Total driving distance was 1737 kilometres spread over 13 full days. Holy moly, we did pack in a lot!

Feb 20 – Mar 4, 2023.

Along the way we met some lovely people. Shoutouts to Linda, Diane, Richard and Tilly. Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie!

Special shoutout to our new friends Gill & Deb, whom we met in Omapere, New Zealand, and raved so much about Tazzie that we had to go!

Our thoughts:

• Incredible natural beauty. Beaches, mountains, waterfalls and TREES! 😍

• Fascinating history! Loved it.

• Lots of windy roads, but not as bad as New Zealand.

• One better have a stomach for dodging road kill. There is A LOT! Even more than in New Zealand, and there is a lot there.

• Still tough to get ice! And the bartenders don’t know how to make a martini. Taught another one! 😂

• AND if you are ever in Hobart, stay at Clydesdale Manor. It’s fabulous and you will meet the world’s most cheerful person. The irrepressible and totally lovely LINDA! 😍

      1. Oops! I would not be able to manage without ice in my drinks! Your adventure still looks great. Loved Tasmania Glad you missed the cyclone on the north island. An older lady I know had to cancel her trip to see family due to the flooding. Not long now until we meet again.

      2. It’s mostly water that you will never see ice in. And there’s no ice down the hallway of your hotel. You have to go ask the bar in your hotel if you can have some ice. But not every place we went had a bar/restaurant so we’d have to go buy a bag of ice. And of course all we have is a little 8” wide, 5” high and 12” deep freezer compartment so we’d fill a few small freezer bags with ice and the rest would have to melt in the shower. Looking forward to having ice at the ready…and clinking a cheers with a cold one in person with you! ❤️

      3. Even if the weather overall hasn’t been the best, you’re right. It could have been so worse! It was so hot here in Adelaide right up until the day we got here and it unfortunately affects our personal experience with a place. It may be why I loved Brisbane the most. We had great weather there.
