Final New Zealand stats.

Just in case you were wondering, we had 11 legs on the north island, totalling 2462 kilometres (an estimated 2985 km driven including all the extras).

The Harris Trail on the north island, Dec 13, 2022 – Jan 12, 2023.

On the south island, we also had 11 legs with 3 lengthy side trips, totalling 3017 kilometres (3658 kilometres driven in total).

The Harris Trail on the south island. Jan 12, 2023 – Feb 9, 2023.

That’s a total of 22 legs and 6643 kilometres over 59 days.

The estimated number of turns is 9.4 million…😏

I didn’t turn on the windshield wipers 5 times. Damn blinkers are on the wrong side. ðŸ˜Ą

No accidents.

Drove briefly on the wrong side of the road 3 times…because there was no traffic.

Not too bad I think.

I hope I do as well in Tasmania!!

  1. That’s like driving from Vancouver, BC to Sydney, NS (6,379 km) with a one-way side trip to Leduc (264 km). Good job!

  4. A little delayed comment on your New Zealand wrap-up. You did an amazing job at keeping records of everywhere you went with good descriptions, comment and lots of pictures and videos. Yes, I can see how this took a lot of effort, but definitely worth it. I think you should collect all of this in a little book with maps of your route and get it bound. It would be a wonderful way for you to look back and re-live this amazing experience and who knows, may be it could be marketed as a guide for people that are planning a trip to NZ? Really enjoyed following along. Many places you went triggered memories for us but you covered so much more of course in your 2 months as opposed to our 2 1/2 weeks there.

      1. The cooling down is OK, but the snow conditions this winter have been lousy. We are in Radium now and even on lake Windermere it is awful, no skiing, just solid ice.
